What is EAMCET?

Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad on behalf of APSCHE. This examination is the prerequisite for admission into various professional courses offered in University/ Private Colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh

The EAMCET is a yearly examination taken by a large number of engineering and medical aspirants in Andhra Pradesh. Presently the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) conducts the examination. This is the entrance exam for engineering ('E' category) and medicine ('AM' category: Agriculture and Medicine). The results are declared over 13 or 14 days every year making the counseling and admission process smooth.This exam is based on "Multiple choice Questions" type.

Every Year, around 175,000 - 2,00,000 students took the Engineering stream and around 1,00,000 students in the Medical & Agricultural stream.

Results of Eamcet will be announced at 4.30 p.m. on June 9. Engineering counselling is likely to start on June 29.
Though the date of the results had been announ-ced earlier, officials had sought from Telangana Education Minister G. Jagadishwar Reddy the time slot for its release. It was fixed at 4.30 p.m.

The Eamcet Committee meeting held on Thursday is believed to have discussed students’ objections to the exam key. Officials said two questions in Physics papers of both the streams carried two correct answers. Both would be treated as correct answers during valuation.

During web counselling, students will get a One Time Password (OTP) on their mobiles every time they log in to enter their details to ensure that the password is not misused by others.

Meanwhile, it was decided to appoint Ajay Jain as Convenor of the committee from the AP cadre, and Sailaja Ramayyar as co-convenor from the Telangana cadre. It was also decided to ensure that all Government Orders giving permission to colleges should be cleared by June 15 as the AICTE is likely to place the details of all approved colleges on the same day.
